The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute has anounced in this Dutch only report that iSPEX made it to the finals of the Academic Yearprize.

Owners of a smartphone will be able to contribute personally to scientific research into fine dust and other aerosols (small particles) in the atmosphere. This can eventually lead to a better understanding of for instance climate change. The instrument that can make this happen, iSPEX, competes for the Dutch Academische Jaarprijs and is now through to the final. SRON is one of the developing partners, together with NOVA/Leiden University, KNMI and RIVM.

We have just heard the news that the iSPEX project made it to the finals of the Academic Yearprize (AJP 2012). The winning team will receive €100.000,- to realize their project.
